UFLPA History –
Signed into law on December 23, 2021 the law prohibited the import of goods from the Xianjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XAUR) of China. This law went into effect on June 21, 2022 by prohibiting imports into the United States any product manufactured in the XAUR.
On March 14, 2023, Customs and Border Protection implemented a new requirement to provide the actual manufacture of the goods from China (not the company your purchased the goods from) including the post code.
Why?
Customs and Border Protection now requires importers to declare the actual postcode of the manufacturer in China. This is due to most importers listing the company address they purchase they acquired the goods from rather than the actual manufacturer’s address.
Our Solution:
Vigilant’s use of technology can validate the manufacturer’s address and distinguish between the actual manufacturer and an agent, as well as perform a “See Through” of your supplier’s vendors, ensuring compliance with UFLPA regulations. It saves time and provides detailed reports to support import claims.
